Walking in the way of Jesus

When Jesus revealed Himself as the way, He wasn’t so much giving us a map to pattern our lives after. Jesus as the way means He is present to us as a living guide that we might participate in His life. Walking the Jesus way means living life in community: the community of Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Walking with Jesus also means walking with others in the community of the Church. We are interconnected and interdependent, we walk together or not at all.

Proclaiming the truth of Jesus

Truth with a capital “T” is a person and his name is Jesus. Proclaiming the Truth doesn’t mean wagging our fingers at others or telling them to try harder and do better. Proclaiming the Truth isn’t about giving good advice; we are proclaiming good news! And the good news is that Jesus is King, once we start submitting ourselves to his good rule and reign, his restoration is hot on our heels!

Drawn into the life of Jesus

This is what it’s all about and it’s all up to Him. Note the passive voice, we can’t draw ourselves into the life of God. The only one who can draw us in is the God-man, Christ Jesus. But this is exactly what He is doing! Our walking and proclaiming is simply participating in His work towards the ultimate end making us one with Himself. This is life that is truly life!

Live in the story of God’s restoration of all things.
